Low-profile, high-performance solution designed specifically for efficient water-based underfloor heating (UFH) systems.

This board features durable cement coatings on both faces, providing a robust, tile-ready surface that allows direct application of ceramic tiles, porcelain, natural stone, or wood flooring (with underlay for floating finishes). The cement coating ensures excellent bond strength for adhesives, eliminating the need for additional backer boards in most installations.

Constructed from high-density extruded polystyrene (XPS) with a compressive strength of 300 kPa at 10% compression, the board offers superior load-bearing capability, making it suitable for residential and light commercial environments where foot traffic, furniture, or point loads are present. The low thermal conductivity inherent in XPS minimizes downward heat loss, directing warmth upward for faster response times and improved energy efficiency — especially beneficial with modern low-temperature heat sources like heat pumps.

One face of the board is fully grooved (routed) to accommodate standard UFH pipes of 12mm or 16mm diameter at 150mm pipe centres, ensuring secure pipe positioning and even heat distribution across the floor. The routing design supports flexible layouts over both timber joist and concrete subfloors, with the board’s lightweight construction (easy to handle and cut on site) speeding up installation significantly.

At just 20mm thick, this board keeps overall floor height buildup to a minimum while delivering effective insulation and structural support. Each board covers 0.72 m² (1200mm x 600mm), allowing precise coverage with minimal waste. Once pipes are laid in the grooves and the system is pressure-tested, flooring can be installed directly onto the upper cement-coated surface for a streamlined, low-profile UFH system.

This product is ideal for renovations, extensions, new builds, conservatories, kitchens, bathrooms, and any area requiring quick, responsive underfloor heating without excessive height increase. The cement faces provide moisture resistance and a stable base, reducing the risk of cracking or movement in tiled finishes.
