ThermalStream® underfloor heating carpet underlay is a 10mm luxury underlay made by Wilsons Underlays specifically for use over electric and water underfloor heating. Punched-hole technology lets heat pass up through the carpet quickly, with a low 0.87 TOG rating.
It is flame retardant, reduces impact noise by 46dB, and comes in a 15m² roll made from 100% recycled foam.

Installation
Turn the underfloor heating off 48 hours before fitting. The subfloor must be clean, level and dry, and carpet and underlay should be conditioned on site for 24 hours. Lay logo side up, bond every joint with Wilsons Bonding Tape (needed for the warranty), and trim tight to the gripper with no gaps over 3mm. Do not heat-seam carpet directly on the underlay. Bring the heating back on gradually afterwards.

Frequently asked questions
Can you put carpet over underfloor heating?
Yes, if the combined TOG of carpet and underlay stays below 2.5. ThermalStream® is only 0.87 TOG, leaving plenty of room for the carpet.
Does ThermalStream® work with water underfloor heating?
Yes. It suits electric, water (hydronic) and air-based systems on concrete or timber subfloors.
