ThermalStream® is a next-generation luxury underfloor heating carpet underlay, manufactured by Wilsons Underlays and engineered specifically to improve the performance, comfort and efficiency of modern electric and hydronic underfloor heating systems. Unlike standard carpet underlays—which are often only 6–8mm thick and trap heat—ThermalStream® delivers fast heat transfer, high comfort, and industry-leading thermal performance with no compromise on safety.

This premium 10mm PU and viscoelastic foam construction incorporates clever punched-hole technology, creating air-perforation channels that allow heat from the UFH system to travel upward more quickly and evenly through the carpet. It is specifically engineered for UFH and should always be installed with Wilsons Bonding Tape to ensure joints remain secure and warranty conditions are met.

Installation Guidance (Summary)

General Installation Notes

• UFH must be turned off 48 hours before installation

• Subfloor must be clean, level, dry and structurally sound

• Condition carpet and underlay on-site for 24 hours

• Follow BS 5325:2021 for textile floor coverings

Installing ThermalStream®

• Lay with the logo side upwards

• Apply spray adhesive around corners

• Bond all joints with Wilsons Bonding Tape

• Trim tightly to gripper with no gaps >3mm

• Use sharp blades for clean cuts

• Do not heat-seam carpet directly on the underlay

• After installation, UFH can be reactivated gradually
