The process
1. Initial Consultation & CAD Design
We start by assessing your specific project requirements—whether it’s a new build in Truro or a renovation in Bristol. Our team produces a bespoke CAD design to calculate precise pipe spacing and heat outputs, ensuring your system is perfectly tailored to your property’s floor levels and insulation.
2. Site Preparation & Sub-Floor Setup
A quality installation begins with the right base. We install high-performance insulation and perimeter edging to maximise efficiency and prevent heat loss.[1] This stage is critical for directing heat upwards into your room and protecting the sub-floor structure.
3. Manifold & Pipe Installation
Our experienced installers fit the manifold in your chosen location, then lay the multi-layer pipework exactly to the CAD design. We use precise spacing (e.g., closer loops in high-heat-loss areas like conservatories) to guarantee even, consistent warmth across the entire floor.
4. Pressure Testing
Quality assurance is our priority. Before any screed or floor finish is laid, we pressure test the system to 6 bar (significantly higher than standard operating pressure). We leave the system under pressure to verify it is completely watertight and ready for the next stage.
5. Handover & Final Connections
Once tested, we hand over the system ready for your screeders and tradespeople. We leave the manifold fully assembled and provide clear technical documentation, making it simple for your plumber and electrician to complete the final connections to your heat source and thermostats.

FAQs
Q: Do you install outside the South West?
A: Yes. While our installation hub is in the South West, we supply underfloor heating kits across the entire UK. For larger residential or commercial projects, our installation teams travel nationwide. Please contact us to discuss your location and project requirements.
Q: Can you install underfloor heating in old stone cottages?
A: Yes. We specialise in retrofitting systems. For older properties with limited floor height, we use “Low Profile” overlay systems that sit on top of your existing floor, adding as little as 15mm to the floor height while providing excellent heat output.
Q: What floor coverings can I use?
A: Underfloor heating works with almost any finish. Tiles and stone (slate/limestone) are the most efficient. Engineered wood and vinyl (LVT) are also excellent. If you prefer carpet, just ensure the combined toggle rating is less than 2.5.
Q: How long does installation take?
A: For a standard room or extension, the pipework can often be laid in a single day. A full house renovation usually takes 2-3 days for the first fix. We work around your other trades to keep your project moving.
Q: Is water UFH cheaper to run than electric?
A: Generally, yes. Water (hydronic) systems connected to a boiler or heat pump are significantly cheaper to run per hour than electric mats. Electric is great for small bathrooms, but water is the best choice for larger areas.
